Lambros Papadopoulos – Chairman

Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors – Chairman

Mr. Lambros Papadopoulos was born in Limassol in 1971. He is a graduate of the University of Kent at Canterbury in the United Kingdom with a degree in Accounting with Computing (BAHons – First Class), and since 1996 Mr. Papadopoulos is an ACA, Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales ICAEW).

Mr. Papadopoulos has more than 27 years of experience in senior management and board positions in listed companies in the United States, the United Kingdom, Greece, and Cyprus, such as Citigroup.

Mr. Papadopoulos career started in 1993 at Ernst & Young in London, where he worked until 1998 in the areas of Audit – Media & Resources and Corporate Finance (Business Valuations).

From 1998 to 2012, he worked at Citigroup (London) as Head of Greece / Cyprus Equity Research and Head of Continental European Small and Mid-Caps (in the period 2011-2012).

In 2013, Mr. Papadopoulos was an Independent Non-Executive Member of the Interim Board of Directors of Bank of Cyprus and the Audit Committee Chairman.

For the period 2015 to 2018, he was an Independent Non-Executive Member of the Board of Directors of Hellenic Bank, Chairman of the Audit Committee, and Member of the Remuneration Committee.

For the period 2018 to 2022, he served as an Independent Non-Executive Member and Member of the Audit Committee and the Strategy Committee of the Board of Directors of Global Ports Investments Plc, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Since April 2019, he is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Trastor Real Estate Investment Company, which is listed on the Athens Stock Exchange. Between 2017-2019 he was an Independent Non-Executive Member and Chairman of the Audit Committee and Member of the Remuneration Committee.

In July 2019, Mr. Papadopoulos was appointed as a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of KEDIPES where he is the Chairman of the Board.

Mr. Papadopoulos, in 2013, founded and manages PenteP Advisors Ltd, which provides consulting services in financial strategic matters.

Marios Chiromerides - Vice Chairman

Mr. Marios Chiromerides was born in Nicosia in 1974. He holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Strategy from the Robert H. Smith School of Business of The University of Maryland, USA, 2002, with scholarships from the Fulbright Commission and The University of Maryland. He is also a graduate of the University of Reading, UK, 1998, with a B.A. in Marketing & International Management, with First Class Honours results and partial scholarship from the Bank of Cyprus.

He is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Asset Management Company Ltd (KEDIPES) since July 2019. He is also the Chairman of the Remunerations and Nominations Committee and member of the Audit and Risk Committee. He is the Managing Director of Connector Investments (Cyprus) Ltd, which he set up in Cyprus in August 2013 with the Hansa Mercator International Group. He deals with capital raising for private SMEs, promotion of investments, business entry/exit planning, transaction management advice, and business transfer services, representing business owners or international investors.

In addition, he is a registered Mediator in Commercial Matters with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Ministry of Justice and Public Order since September 2017.

From 2018 until 2022 he held the position of Director, Company Secretary, and Compliance Officer of Agros Development Company Proodos Public Ltd, which is listed at the CSE and owns and operates the Rodon Mount Hotel and Resort.

From 2017 to 2018 he served as a Director at the board of CYTA (Cyprus Telecommunications Authority) and as a Trustee at The Pensions and Grants Fund of the Employees of CYTA overseeing a €600 million asset portfolio. He served also as a Director at the board of CYTA Hellas Telecommunications S.A. until achieving its sale to Vodafone Hellas for €118 million. Finally, he served at the Board of CyBC (Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation) in 2016-2017.

Mr Marios Chiromerides has over ten years of experience in the real estate sector in managing, expanding, renovating, leasing, and selling mixed-use retail, leisure, office, residential, and hotel assets.

From 2007 to 2013, he served as the first general manager of The Mall of Cyprus, the first and most successful shopping mall in Cyprus. He also managed the Shacolas Emporium Park, The Mall of Engomi, and other commercial schemes of the Shacolas Group. He was also the General Manager of the listed company holding the assets, ITTL Trade Tourist & Leisure Park Plc.

From 2003 to 2007 he was the General Manager of Pafilia Services Ltd, managing a large number of residential and holiday real estate developments for the Pafilia Group in Pafos, providing full after-sales property-related services to foreign property owners and investors. His property experience is complemented with one year in property sales and leasing from 2002 to 2003 at Landtourist Estates Limited in Nicosia.

From 1998 to 2000 he worked in Marketing Communications in Reading and Slough, UK, for International Computers Ltd (ICL), a subsidiary company of the Fujitsu Group.

Dr. Marios Pitsillis - Non-Executive Member

Dr Marios Pitsillis graduated from London School of Economics with a First Class Honours B.Sc. (Econ) degree in Economics, Accounting and Finance. He is also a graduate of Cambridge University, where he completed postgraduate and doctorate studies in Financial Economics, Macro-Economics and Econometrics – M.Phil, Ph.D. He has won scholarships from various awarding bodies and prizes for academic excellence for all years of studies.

He has many years of professional banking experience in various positions in the areas of Corporate Banking, Group Strategy, Equity & Investment Research & Analysis and Group Risk Management at Laiki Bank Group. He has also participated in important Laiki Bank group projects.

Since 2013 he deals with the provision of consulting services and with business and university education and training, including online education. He was also selected by the European Commission as an Expert/ Evaluator of innovative SME companies under the Horizon 2020 European Union Program for Technology, Innovation and Excellence. He has also many years of teaching experience at Cambridge University, University of Cyprus, Open University of Cyprus, Hellenic Open University etc. He has also taught at many other undergraduate and postgraduate programs and MBA programs and his research has been published in scientific journals and books.

Dionysios Dionysiou - Non-Executive Member

Mr. Dionysios Dionysiou holds a degree in Economics from the University of Piraeus and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Mediterranean Institute of Management (MIM).

Since 2005, Mr. Dionysiou has been working in the Administration of the Ministry of Finance under the Directorate of Financial Stability, where he holds the position of Senior Economic Officer since June 2019.

In September 2013, Mr. Dionysiou was appointed by the Minister of Finance as Head of the Management Unit based on his provisions on the Establishment and Operation of the Management Unit of the Participation of the Republic of Cyprus in the Ownership of Credit Institutions.

Mr. Dionysiou’s primary responsibilities included the Republic’s management as a shareholder in the ownership structure of the ex-Cooperative Bank of Cyprus (ex-CCB) and the Housing Finance Corporation (HFC). The main goal was to ensure compliance with any conditions set by the European Commission (EU). The compliance aimed for the provision of monitoring and evaluating the ex- CCB restructuring plans. The agreement also sought to behave as an observer (no voting rights, in the ex-CCB Committee) and the Board of Directors of the HFC.

Mr. Dionysiou served as the Chairman of the Management Committee of the Recapitalization Fund since December 2015. He has also served on the Management Committee of the Deposit Guarantee System, and the Consolidation of Credit and Other Institutions since 2008. Since August 2018, he is a non-executive member of the Cyprus Asset Management Company Ltd (KEDIPES). 

Sophocles Parapanos - Non-Executive Member

Mr. Sophocles Parapanos holds an MBA in Finance and Investments from Northern Illinois University in the USA.
Mr. Parapanos has 30 years of experience in the banking sector, where he specialized in international capital markets and financing in emerging markets.
Mr. Parapanos worked at HSBC (Wardley Cyprus Ltd) and the international financial organization, London Forfaiting Company PLC. He was the co-founder and CEO of the first non-banking Cypriot institution for the provision of commercial financing in European emerging markets, and the provision of foreign exchange services, namely TFI Public Co. Ltd.
He is currently running an office specializing in providing consulting services while he has also served as a member on the boards of directors for various financial institutions and other companies. 

Yangos Hadjiyannis - Non-Executive Member

Yangos Hadjiyannis earned an LL.B. with a First-Class Honours from the University of Nottingham. He then moved to the University of Cambridge (Trinity Hall) where he earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies and the next year, an LL.M. in International Law with a First Class Honours. Achieving 1st place among Law students at Trinity Hall College, he was proclaimed a Bateman Scholar for Academic Excellence. He moved back to Cyprus in 2007 where he has successfully completed the Cyprus Bar Examinations and became a member of the Cyprus Bar Association. In May 2022 he completed successfully the highly exclusive Executive Education program “Authentic Leadership” at Harvard University. In July 2022, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration by the University of West London.

From 2008 to 2019, he was the Deputy Director-General of The Cyprus Institute of Marketing, in charge for business development and strategy. Since 2020 he is the Chief Executive Officer. He is a member of the Board of Directors of CIPA (Invest Cyprus) and Chairman of the Promotion Committee. Moreover, he is a member of the Cyprus Advertising Control Agency and member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Employers & Industrialists Federation (OEB).

Marios Papadopoulos CEO - Executive Member

Mr. Papadopoulos holds a BS in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and an MS in Banking & Money Management from Adelphi University in New York. He is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Cyprus Association of Chartered Accountants.

Mr. Papadopoulos has worked for Horwarth Afxendiou and Filippidis, Chartered Accountants, between 1992 and 1997, as Audit Manager. He then transitioned as a Senior Audit Manager for HLB Afxentiou and Partners Chartered Accountants. Between June 2003 and January 2016, Mr. Papadopoulos was Secretary-General Manager of the Paphos Cooperative Savings Bank, where he later took over as Head of the Senior Management of Banking Activities of CCB until August 2018.

From September 2018 until February 2020, he held the position of Director of Portfolio Service of the Cyprus Asset Management Company (KEDIPES).

Mr. Papadopoulos was later appointed to the position of CEO of KEDIPES in February.

Lambros Papalambrianou CFO - Executive Member

He studied ‘Industrial Economics with Accounting’ at the University of Nottingham between 1988 and 1991.

Between 1991 and 1994 he worked at auditing firm KPMG in England, where he successfully completed the exams and became a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

In 1995 he obtained an MBA in International Banking and Finance at the University of Birmingham.

Between 1995 and 2014 he worked at Alpha Bank Cyprus. He held a number of managerial positions and on 26.4.2013 he was appointed General Manager Risk and Finance and an executive member of the Board of Directors of Alpha Bank Cyprus. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Alpha Insurance Ltd and Emporiki Bank Cyprus Ltd.

On 15.9.2014 he joined the Cooperative Central Bank as Chief Financial Officer and from 1.9.2018 he has the same position at Cyprus Asset Management Company (KEDIPES).
